Kloofzicht flies Australian flag
The Qantas Socceroos from Australia are set to make Kloofzicht Lodge in the Cradle of Humankind its base camp during the 2010 Fifa World Cup. The team has booked the lodge exclusively for the duration of the tournament and will arrive about five days before the start of the event.
Australia, who reached the second round at the last World Cup, has been drawn to face three-time champions Germany, Ghana and Serbia in Group D.
Operations director Leon Bosch says: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Guvon Hotels & Spas and we are committed to offering the team an unforgettable experience in South Africa."
Socceroos head coach Pim Verbeek adds: "We are very pleased to have settled on our plans. It is a terrific venue and allows the players to relax in secure privacy once their daily training and playing commitments are over."
"There are also some major benefits from being based at Kloofzicht Lodge: the training venue is close, it is at altitude, it is quiet, safe as well as offers quality service combined with great accommodation and conferencing facilities."
Kloofzicht Lodge is the flagship property of the Guvon Hotel & Spas Group. Other properties in the group include Glenburn Lodge, Bushwillow Tented Camp, Chicama Country Spa, Umbhaba Lodge, Askari Game Lodge, and Fairway Hotel (currently under construction at the Randpark Golf Course and due to open mid-2010).
